Amit Shah Highlights India-US Trade Deals Impact on Economy

New Delhi, February 8: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has described the recent trade agreement between India and the United States as a catalyst for accelerating the growth of the Indian economy. He expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for facilitating this agreement.

In a post on the social media platform X, Shah stated that the interim trade deal has further propelled India’s rapid development.

He emphasized that this agreement, while realizing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India, paves the way for a new beginning for initiatives like ‘Make in India,’ benefiting hardworking farmers, entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises, startup innovators, and fishermen. It also creates new job opportunities for youth and women. Shah extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Modi and congratulated every citizen of India for this historic agreement.

Earlier, Amit Shah chaired a review meeting in Jammu on the progress of development projects. During the meeting, he conducted a comprehensive review of key sectors such as road infrastructure, hydropower projects, electricity, industry, tourism, 4G, and optical fiber connectivity. The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir‘s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Union Home Secretary, and senior officials from both the central and Jammu and Kashmir governments.

Amit Shah reiterated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the Indian government is committed to the vision of a developed and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that continuous and dedicated efforts by the Modi government have led to unprecedented progress in development projects in the region. He stressed the need to fully harness the potential of hydropower projects in Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized achieving 100% saturation of government welfare schemes to ensure that all beneficiaries receive the benefits of development projects.

The Union Home Minister also highlighted the importance of developing sports infrastructure and establishing sports academies to engage youth in development. Discussions with various sports bodies will aim for an investment of approximately ₹200 crore. Efforts should also be made to promote the dairy sector in Jammu and Kashmir through the National Dairy Development Board.
