Milan, February 8: The 25th Winter Olympic Games were inaugurated on the evening of February 6 in Milan, Italy. This marks the third time Italy has hosted the Winter Olympics.
The opening ceremony embraced an innovative multi-location connectivity model, perfectly reflecting the theme of “harmony.” It conveyed the message that despite mountains and rivers separating us, our hearts unite in this moment, allowing the world to share the same feelings.
Held at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, the ceremony showcased Italy’s rich history and cultural allure. Chinese pianist Lang Lang delivered a stunning performance alongside Italian artists.
Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella officially opened the 25th Winter Olympic Games.
The highlight of the ceremony was an exhilarating torch-lighting event that brought the festivities to a climax.
The Chinese Sports delegation comprises 286 members, including 126 athletes, who will compete in seven major events, 15 sub-events, and 91 individual competitions. This participation sets a new record for the largest number of foreign competitors and athletes in the Winter Olympics.
