Celebrating 100 Years of RSS: Insights from Mohan Bhagwat

Mumbai, February 8: The Nehru Centre Auditorium in Worli hosted a two-day event titled ‘New Horizons’ to celebrate the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Numerous prominent figures attended, praising the insights shared by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Film director Abhishek Sharma expressed his admiration for Bhagwat’s thoughts on religion and nationhood, emphasizing their scientific reasoning. He stated, “While creating films like ‘Parmanu’ and ‘Ram Setu,’ I aimed to connect science with our culture and beliefs. Today, Mohan Bhagwat articulated these themes with scientific logic, which is truly inspiring.”

Sharma further noted that every Indian should extend their responsibilities beyond personal work to include awareness of their nation and faith. He commended Bhagwat’s definition of religion, stating, “Religion is not merely a faith. The teachings of the Bhagavad Gita transcend narrow beliefs. Bhagwat simplified complex topics remarkably well. I look forward to tomorrow’s session, anticipating more transparency and insightful discussions.”

Actress Poonam Dhillon shared her positive experience at the event, stating she learned a lot from Bhagwat’s ideas. “I realized how to become a better person and Indian. He emphasized unity beyond religion and caste. His wisdom is laced with humor, and his references to Guru Nanakji were enlightening. I am genuinely happy to have attended and learned so much,” she remarked.

Dr. Harish Kori, Director of the Mumbai and Akhil Bharatiya Kohli Society, praised Bhagwat’s ideology of Hindutva, stating, “His philosophy is crucial for guiding India’s future. To maintain unity and integrity, we must foster a sense of universality among all. I will work to spread his ideas to every household and community. Thank you.”
