Bhopal, February 8: Exciting news has emerged from Kuno National Park in Shyopur district, Madhya Pradesh. A female cheetah has given birth to five cubs. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his delight, stating that this achievement positions Madhya Pradesh as a leading center for Wildlife Conservation.
Kuno National Park has become a significant hub for cheetah reintroduction efforts. Cheetahs were brought here from Namibia, South Africa, and were released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday. This initiative has proven successful, with the cheetah population steadily increasing.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav celebrated the birth of the five cubs in the cheetah family at Kuno National Park. He noted that this marks another unprecedented achievement in wildlife conservation in Shyopur. The female cheetah, named Asha, has given birth to five healthy cubs, strengthening India’s cheetah reintroduction campaign.
With this latest addition, the number of cheetahs born in India has risen to 24, while the total cheetah population in Kuno has reached 35. This milestone establishes Madhya Pradesh as a key player in wildlife conservation efforts in the country. The success is attributed to the dedicated forest staff, veterinarians’ continuous monitoring, scientific management, and relentless hard work.
