Raipur, February 7: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah arrived in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, on Saturday. He was welcomed at the Raipur airport by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, state ministers, and officials. Following the reception, the Home Minister departed for the Mayfair Hotel.
Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Chhattisgarh. During his stay, he will participate in several important meetings and events focused on the state’s internal security, development, and administrative issues.
Upon arriving in Raipur, Shah held a meeting with senior officials at the Mayfair Hotel, where discussions centered on security and other critical topics.
On February 8, he will attend a security review meeting concerning Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) in Raipur. Additionally, he is set to participate in a national conclave titled “Chhattisgarh@25: Shifting the Lens.”
The following day, February 9, the Home Minister will visit Bastar, where he will serve as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of “Bastar Pandum-2026.”
Notably, this event was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu. CM Baghel shared the news on the social media platform X, stating that the grand opening of “Bastar Pandum-2026” took place on the historic soil of Bastar, led by President Murmu. He emphasized that this occasion is not merely a cultural event but a moment of pride honoring the spirit of Bastar, the faith of its tribal community, and its rich cultural heritage.
The CM further noted that through Bastar Pandum, the vibrant presentation of tribal philosophy, language, dance, attire, and traditional arts will strengthen Bastar’s unique identity on the global stage. The diverse cultural events across 12 categories will elevate tribal pride to new heights. In Bastar, trust has replaced fear, and faith has supplanted violence. Where gunfire once echoed, today a new melody of culture, education, and development is resonating. This transformation marks the identity of a newly developed and secure Bastar.
