Haridwar, February 7: The upcoming film ‘Ghooskhore Pandit‘ starring actor Manoj Bajpayee is stirring controversy. Following the release of its teaser, members of the Brahmin community and religious leaders took to the streets to express their strong opposition to the film.
Mahamantrishwar Swami Jyotirmayaanand has voiced sharp criticism regarding the film. He stated, “Such a film should be banned immediately as it attempts to tarnish the image of a specific community. Nowadays, the Brahmin community is openly insulted, and some people seem to find joy in this, which is a serious and concerning issue.”
He added, “The Brahmin community has played a crucial role in distinguishing between humans and animals in society. Therefore, portraying the community negatively in this film is harmful to both the nation and society.”
On the same issue, Nitin Gautam, president of the Ganga Sabha, raised questions about the film’s title and storyline. He remarked, “‘Ghooskhore Pandit‘ is an offensive title in itself, as bribery is not a trivial matter but a serious criminal act. It is condemnable to portray members of any community as criminals. Strict action should be taken against such filmmakers to prevent anyone from damaging a community’s image in the future.”
Additionally, Acharya Pramod Krishnam expressed strong disapproval of the film’s title, stating, “In my view, naming a film ‘Ghooskhore Pandit’ is akin to sin. Deliberately targeting any community to make a film is a divisive act. Some individuals want to create division in society by exploiting caste, and this film could be part of such conspiracies.”
Shia religious leader Maulana Saif Abbas also took a firm stance on the controversy. He asserted, “Films targeting a particular religion or community should be completely banned. It is regrettable how attempts are being made to create a divisive atmosphere in the country for cheap popularity and publicity. I urge the Indian government to impose an immediate ban on this film.”
He further stated, “Previously, films aimed to entertain while also delivering positive messages to society. However, some individuals are now resorting to such controversial methods merely to stay in the limelight and gain publicity. Such films do not strengthen brotherhood in the country; instead, they contribute to a deteriorating atmosphere.”
