Major Arrests Made in Muzaffarpur Murder Case

Muzaffarpur, February 7: Muzaffarpur police have achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting two suspects involved in the high-profile Suraj Bihari murder case that occurred in Purnia on January 28.

The suspects were apprehended near the Imli Chatti bus stand while attempting to leave the city. They have been identified as Aditya Kumar and Sunehil Kumar, who had been on the run since the incident.

City SP Mohibullah Ansari confirmed the arrests, stating that the murder stemmed from a dispute over Instagram followings. Both suspects are charged with murder due to their involvement in this altercation.

He explained that Purnia police coordinated with Muzaffarpur police, leading to the swift action that resulted in the suspects’ capture.

Currently, both individuals are in custody, and further legal proceedings are underway. The police are actively investigating the case.

In a related development, police in Madhubani district have dismantled an international cyber fraud gang. Four members of the gang were arrested, with a significant cache of electronic devices and cash seized. During the operation, Madhubani police recovered seven SIM boxes, 136 mobile phones and SIM cards, various electronic devices, and ₹168,000 in cash, along with other tools used in cyber fraud.

This operation was conducted based on specific intelligence and involved collaboration between the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Economic Offenses Unit (EOU), District Intelligence Unit (DIU), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Department of Telecommunications (DOT), municipal police station, and cyber police station teams.
