India Clinches U-19 World Cup Title with Dominant Victory

New Delhi, February 7: The President of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Jay Shah, congratulated the Indian team for winning the U-19 World Cup 2026, declaring them “deserving” of the title.

Jay Shah stated, “Congratulations to India for winning the sixth title of the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup! They truly deserve this victory, but England can also take pride in their impressive performance leading up to the final. Kudos to Zimbabwe Cricket and Namibia Cricket for hosting a fantastic tournament that showcased the future stars of our sport.”

In the match held at Harare Sports Club, India won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring 411 runs while losing 9 wickets.

Vaibhav SuryaVanshi was the standout performer for the team, scoring an impressive 175 runs off 80 balls, including 15 fours and 15 sixes. Captain Ayush Mhatre contributed with a solid 53 runs from 51 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 7 fours. Abhijnaan Kundu added 40 runs to the total.

For England, James Minto took the most wickets, claiming 3, while Sebastian Morgan and Alex Green each took 2 wickets. Manny Lumsden managed to secure 1 wicket.

In response, England was bowled out for just 311 runs in 40.2 overs. Caleb Faulkner was the top scorer for England, making 115 runs off 67 balls, including 7 sixes and 9 fours. Ben Dockins contributed 66 runs, while Ben Meays added 45 runs.

On the bowling front for India, R.S. Ambreesh took 3 wickets, while Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chauhan each claimed 2 wickets. Ayush Mhatre and Khilan Patel took 1 wicket each.
