Bihar Celebrates Vaibhav Suryavanshis Stellar U-19 World Cup Victory

Samastipur, February 6: The atmosphere in Bihar turned festive as India’s Under-19 cricket team clinched the World Cup by defeating England by 100 runs. Star batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a breathtaking performance, scoring 175 runs off just 80 balls. His grandfather, Upendra Prasad Singh, expressed immense pride, stating they knew he would shine in the final, but he exceeded expectations like a cyclone.

In an interview from Samastipur, Singh shared, “This is a moment of great joy. Vaibhav played exceptionally well. Although he missed out on a double century, his performance was outstanding.”

He added, “What could be better than this? We have always said he would excel in the final.”

Singh highlighted the remarkable achievement of a boy under 15 playing so brilliantly. “Even without a double century, he scored 175 runs in just 80 balls. With support from other players, he could have performed even better.”

Referring to the senior Indian team, Singh remarked that Vaibhav should soon be included. “He is ready to break into the Indian senior team, and that door will open very soon. After March, he will be part of the senior squad.”

He recalled a former cricketer’s commentary, noting, “I heard them say that this boy under 15 is hitting sixes over 100 meters; what could be more impressive? It’s a matter of great pride. Vaibhav is a rural boy reaching the pinnacle of success. We are all extremely happy about his achievements.”
