Jhajjar, February 6: The Indian U-19 cricket team clinched the World Cup title on Friday, defeating England by 100 runs in the final. Kanishk Chauhan’s all-round performance has sparked celebrations in his family and village.
Kanishk’s mother, Sarita Chauhan, shared her excitement with a news agency, stating, “We have made full preparations for Kanishk’s return. He will be welcomed on February 9 with a grand ceremony. We will celebrate by serving him churma.”
She also conveyed a message to parents, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and nurturing children’s talents at the right time. “It’s crucial to support children. If we provide that support, they will surely deliver results,” she added.
Kanishk’s father, Pradeep Chauhan, praised his son’s outstanding performance, saying, “We did not expect such a high-level performance, but he played exceptionally well. We hope our son will soon join the senior team and bring honor to the country.” He confirmed that a ceremony is planned for February 9 to honor Kanishk, expressing pride in his son’s achievements.
Kanishk’s sister, Shivani Chauhan, expressed her joy, stating, “We are very happy with Kanishk Bhaiya’s performance. He played so well, and we are very proud of him.”
His uncle, Gopal Singh Chauhan, congratulated the Indian team on winning the U-19 World Cup. “We are thrilled with our son’s performance and hope he will achieve even greater results in the future. We are eagerly awaiting Kanishk’s return for the honor ceremony on February 9.”
Kanishk’s nephew, Raj, shared his excitement, saying, “Today was our uncle’s match. He hit boundaries and took wickets. We had a lot of fun.”
