Jammu, February 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Bobiya Border Outpost (BOP) in the Hiranagar area of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, where he paid tribute to the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. During his visit, he also inaugurated welfare schemes for border guards through a virtual platform.
Addressing the BSF soldiers, Shah emphasized that the BSF has always stood as a formidable wall in defending the nation’s borders. Whenever there have been attempts to encroach upon the country’s boundaries, the BSF has faced them with unwavering strength. He noted that the BSF has written a golden chapter in ‘Operation Sindoor,’ showcasing their valor on every front.
The Union Home Minister recalled the devastating floods in Punjab, stating that during that challenging time, BSF personnel not only secured the borders but also assisted the citizens of Punjab, demonstrating humanity. He remarked that the BSF serves not only as a border security force but also as a shield for the public during disasters.
Amit Shah also announced that the government will introduce a new and special scheme for the welfare of BSF personnel. Additionally, the entire border security system will be modernized based on advanced technology. The central government is set to invest a significant amount to provide better resources and facilities for the soldiers.
Earlier, the Home Minister paid homage at the martyr memorial ‘Ajeya Prahari’ located at the Bobiya BOP, honoring the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for national defense. He stated that the sacrifices and unwavering dedication of these soldiers serve as an inspiration for every citizen. He saluted their indomitable courage and valor.
Shah shared his experience on social media platform ‘X’ regarding the posts made for the BSF, mentioning that when he considered posting about his visit to the Bobiya Outpost, he read the comments. Each comment was filled with praise for the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of BSF personnel, reflecting the sentiments of the entire nation.
On Saturday, the Home Minister will also chair a review meeting on ongoing development projects in Jammu and Kashmir at Lok Bhawan.
