Andhra CM Accuses Opposition of Temple Offering Contamination

Amaravati, February 6: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made a significant allegation on Friday regarding the contamination of Tirupati laddus. He claimed that during the previous tenure of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), the ghee used to make these laddus was derived from chemicals found in bathroom cleaners.

Naidu accused the YSRCP of compromising the sanctity of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple by mixing adulterated offerings. He stated that for five years, the YSRCP produced prasadam using chemically derived ghee, which was made from substances typically used for cleaning bathrooms.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing a public gathering in Yemmiganur, Kurnool district, where he distributed ‘Your Land – Your Right’ pattadar passbooks to farmers.

He further commented on YSRCP leader and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s claims that the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Special Investigation Team had cleared him of wrongdoing. Naidu pointed out that Reddy’s own uncle, Y.V. Subba Reddy, admitted to the contamination of the prasadam.

Naidu asserted that after the YSRCP’s adulteration of offerings, he attempted to rectify the situation. He noted a significant difference between the laddus offered now and those provided in the past.

He accused the YSRCP of prioritizing political theatrics over public welfare issues. Naidu remarked that such displays of power should be reserved for election periods.

Referring to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent visit to Guntur, Naidu criticized him for causing inconvenience to drivers. He recounted an incident where Reddy’s convoy allegedly ran over a person named Singayya and mentioned the destruction of mangoes in Bangarupalem, labeling it as an act of hooliganism. Naidu concluded by stating that they are well-equipped to handle such political tactics.

The Andhra Pradesh government, led by the Telugu Desam Party, is committed to providing pattadar passbooks to farmers, ensuring all necessary safeguards against land record manipulation.
