Gadchiroli, February 6: In a significant operation in the forests of Abujhmad, Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra, two more Maoist bodies were recovered on Friday morning. The deceased include one male and one female Maoist. Additionally, police seized two firearms from the scene.

Previously, one Maoist had already been killed, bringing the total to three Maoists (two males and one female) eliminated in this operation. The police also confiscated an AK-47 and an SLR rifle from the site. However, the identities of all three Maoists have yet to be established.

The encounter between Gadchiroli police and the Maoists has been ongoing near the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border for the past two days. Security forces have exercised considerable caution during this operation in the dense forest areas. During the campaign, C-60 commando Deepak Chinna Madavi (38), a resident of Aheri, sustained severe injuries. He was airlifted from Abujhmad to the sub-district hospital in Bhamragad but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Another soldier, Joga Madavi, from Kishtyapalli, was injured by gunfire during the night. He was also promptly airlifted to the hospital, and his condition is currently reported as stable. He is expected to be transferred to Gadchiroli soon.

Under this operation, police have continued search efforts in the area, establishing blockades in various parts of the forest. Thanks to the vigilance and valor of the security forces, three Maoists have been neutralized, and weapons have been recovered. The police have stated that monitoring of Maoist activities in the entire region is ongoing, and the operation will continue to prevent any further insurgent activities.
