New Delhi, February 6: The birth anniversary of Yashoda, the mother of Lord Krishna, is celebrated with great enthusiasm on the sixth day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalgun, according to the Hindu calendar. Devotees honor Yashoda and perform rituals to worship the child form of Krishna on this special day.
This festival holds significant importance for those wishing for the joy of children. It is believed that observing fasts and conducting prayers on Yashoda’s birthday enhances the chances of childbirth, prosperity for children, and overall family happiness.
On this day, special rituals are conducted not only for Yashoda but also for her beloved Krishna. Offerings of milk, yogurt, butter, sugar, and fruits are made during the worship. Devotional songs and prayers are sung, followed by the distribution of prasad.
According to the Drik Panchang, the sixth day of the Krishna Paksha will last from 2:54 AM on February 7 until February 8. The nakshatra Chitra will be present on Saturday, lasting until 2:28 AM on February 8. The moon will transit through the Virgo sign. Sunrise will occur at 7:06 AM, and sunset will be at 6:05 PM.
In terms of auspicious timings, the Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga and Ravi Yoga will be in effect from 2:28 AM to 7:05 AM on Saturday, making it an excellent time for worship. The Amrit Kaal will be from 7:31 PM to 9:15 PM, which is particularly fruitful for performing prayers or any auspicious activities. Other favorable timings include the Abhijit Muhurat from 12:13 PM to 12:57 PM, the Vijay Muhurat from 2:25 PM to 3:09 PM, and the Ghodhuli Muhurat from 6:03 PM to 6:29 PM.
Regarding inauspicious times, Rahukal will occur from 9:51 AM to 11:13 AM, Yamgand from 1:58 PM to 3:20 PM, and Gulik Kaal from 7:06 AM to 8:28 AM. It is advised not to undertake any auspicious or new tasks during these periods.
