Congress Criticizes PM Modis Fear of Opposition Questions

New Delhi, February 5: Congress national spokesperson and media in-charge Pawan Khera launched a sharp attack on the central government on Thursday. He accused Prime Minister Modi of fearing questions from Opposition MPs.

Khera raised concerns about a statement made by the Lok Sabha Speaker while sharing a video on the social media platform ‘X’.

He stated, “The Lok Sabha Speaker made a strange remark today. He mentioned that the Prime Minister was prevented from entering the House due to fears of an attack from female MPs. The Congress women MPs protesting seem to intimidate the Prime Minister. There is a difference between an attack and a protest; those who understand democracy recognize this distinction.”

He further added, “Modi ji, you fear China, you fear Epstein, you fear America, you fear your fellow MPs, you fear farmers, you fear the youth, you fear a book. In reality, you fear questions and answers.”

This statement from the Congress spokesperson comes amid ongoing deadlock in Parliament and protests from the opposition, where Congress and other parties are raising issues regarding the central government’s stance.

Khera’s remarks were a response to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s statement, which claimed that the Prime Minister was barred from responding in the House for security reasons. Khera questioned this, labeling it as an indication of the Prime Minister’s evasion of accountability in a democracy.

The Congress party argues that the Prime Minister is avoiding answering in Parliament, while the government cites security concerns.
