Vadodara, February 5: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the toss and chose to bowl first against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 final. The match is taking place at the BCA Stadium on Thursday.
After winning the toss, RCB captain Smriti Mandhana stated, “We would like to field first. This has been a trend in the tournament, but it’s always good to know what score you are chasing on a good wicket. We are playing with the same playing eleven as in our last match.”
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues remarked, “Losing the toss in such a big match can sometimes be a blessing. We would have chosen to bowl first too, but we are happy with how things turned out. We are playing with the same team. The good thing is that after playing the eliminator, we are on the same pitch again, so we know how it will behave. Yes, we are ready for today.”
Delhi Capitals have reached the WPL final for the fourth time. They lost their first final to Mumbai Indians but secured the title against Capitals in the next season. In the third season, they again reached the final but faced defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians once more.
While Delhi Capitals aim to clinch their first WPL title, RCB seeks to secure the trophy for the second time.
