Mumbai, February 5: Renowned for his powerful performances, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is also known for his punctuality. Many artists who have worked with him commend his professional demeanor. Recently, veteran actress Kalpana Ayyar shared her experiences of working with Bachchan during an interview.
Reflecting on her time with him, Ayyar stated, “I worked with Amitabh Bachchan in the film ‘Satte Pe Satta.’ During the shooting, I learned a crucial life lesson from him: the importance of valuing time. No matter how big a superstar he is, he has never been late to the set.”
Ayyar also mentioned her mother’s teachings, saying, “My mother always said that a person who arrives on time everywhere possesses the best values. When you learn to respect others’ time, it becomes a significant trait. Watching Amitabh Bachchan helped me understand the true importance of this lesson.”
Recalling the shooting days of ‘Satte Pe Satta,’ she noted, “At that time, Amitabh lived in Juhu, while I resided in Andheri. The shooting location was at Ballard Pier in Mumbai, where we had to arrive around six in the morning. The distance and timing were challenging, yet Amitabh consistently arrived on time.”
Kalpana added, “Both Amitabh and I had white Ambassador cars back then. I always tried my best to be on time, but I often arrived later than him. Whenever I reached the set, I would find Amitabh already there, while no one else was present.”
She concluded, “Despite being such a big star, Amitabh’s habit of arriving alone and early at the set was inspiring for me. Professionalism is not just about completing tasks; valuing time is a significant part of it.”
