Delhi Police Rescues Two Missing Minors in Separate Cases

New Delhi, February 5: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and Crime Branch of Delhi Police successfully reunited two Missing Minors with their families in two separate cases. These incidents are linked to the Mukherjee Nagar and Wazirabad areas.

According to police reports, the first case involved a 12-year-old boy with mental challenges who went missing on September 6, 2025, from Mukherjee Nagar. An FIR was registered at the Mukherjee Nagar police station under Section 137(2) of the Indian Penal Code, as the child was a minor and mentally vulnerable. The AHTU took charge of the investigation.

Under the supervision of ACP Suresh Kumar, Inspector Mukesh Kumar and ASI Ajay Kumar Jha worked tirelessly. They reviewed CCTV footage, interviewed locals, employed technical methods, and disseminated information about the boy on social media. They also communicated with family members and relatives. After extensive efforts, the boy was safely located.

The investigation revealed that the boy lived in a rented house in Nirankari Colony, where he worked during the day washing cars and served as a security guard at night. Due to his mental condition, he wandered off and ended up lost at Anand Vihar bus terminal. There was no abduction; he had simply lost his way.

The second case involved a 15-year-old boy who went missing from Wazirabad on January 22, 2026. An FIR was filed at Wazirabad police station under Section 137(2) of the IPC on January 24. The AHTU also handled this sensitive case. Under ACP Suresh Kumar’s guidance, Inspector Mukesh Kumar, ASI Mahesh, and Head Constable Naresh Kumar diligently worked on the case. They conducted local inquiries, utilized technical surveillance, and gathered information from the family. Thanks to a specific tip from ASI Mahesh, the boy was found on February 4, 2026, at Azadpur vegetable market.

The investigation revealed that the boy left home after a family dispute and went to stay with his aunt. Again, there was no kidnapping; he had fled due to domestic issues.

Both minors were safely returned to their homes. The cases have been forwarded to the respective police stations for further legal action. Families and local residents praised the AHTU team for their swift and coordinated efforts, which have bolstered confidence in law and order in the area.
