Avadhesh Prasad Praises Mamata Banerjee for Defending Democracy

New Delhi, February 5: The controversy surrounding the special intensive revision of the voter list in West Bengal continues to escalate. In this context, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Election Commission regarding a petition filed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Samajwadi Party MP Avadhesh Prasad commended CM Banerjee for her actions.

Prasad stated, “CM Mamata Banerjee has taken commendable steps. There is a threat to democracy in this country. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar granted the right to vote to millions of Dalits, backward classes, and marginalized individuals, but the BJP is planning to disenfranchise these voters. CM Mamata Banerjee has personally presented her case before the Supreme Court.”

He further remarked, “Our judiciary has a glorious history. In Uttar Pradesh, the government has been led by Baba, who has seen temples in every mosque and has ordered excavations. However, the Supreme Court has taken a commendable step to curb the chaos in the state and the country. The court has worked to preserve brotherhood and the Ganga-Jamuni culture.”

Prasad expressed confidence that the steps taken by Mamata Banerjee are praiseworthy not only in West Bengal but across the entire nation. “Her actions will provide significant relief to the country. The BJP’s intention to disenfranchise voters will not succeed. CM Mamata Banerjee has defended the right of the people to save and form their government through their votes. I congratulate Mamata Banerjee. Our leader Akhilesh Yadav also supported her wholeheartedly.”

It is noteworthy that a bench led by Chief Justice Suryakant, along with Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V.M. Pancholi, heard Mamata Banerjee’s petition on Wednesday. The Chief Justice stated, “We will find a solution. No one can take away the rights of genuine voters. We will not shirk our responsibilities.” The bench advised the Election Commission to exercise caution when sending notices to voters based on discrepancies in names.
