New Delhi, February 4: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a significant achievement in making the capital cleaner, pollution-free, and more beautiful. She revealed that the Delhi government has successfully installed mist spray systems and anti-smog guns (ASGs) at all 143 elevated metro stations ahead of schedule. The Chief Minister commended the metro’s initiative in this regard.
Addressing air pollution is a top priority for the government, and practical measures are being implemented on the ground. To date, 131 mist spray systems and 12 ASGs have been installed in busy and sensitive areas like the metro. Where mist sprays could not be installed due to technical reasons, ASGs have been deployed to ensure that pollution control efforts remain robust.
This initiative includes 89 on-road and 54 off-road elevated metro stations. It aims to improve air quality in the capital while providing passengers and citizens with a cleaner and better environment.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that the government is equally focused on environmental preservation and beautifying Delhi. In this context, artwork has been completed on 50 pillars located along various metro corridors. These artworks depict nature, flowers, birds, and symbols of Indian culture, enhancing the city’s identity and appeal.
CM Rekha Gupta stated that the Delhi government’s commitment extends beyond merely alleviating pollution; it aims to develop the capital into a beautiful, vibrant, and world-class city. The mist sprays, ASGs at metro stations, and the artwork on pillars are part of this broader vision. The government will continue to take effective steps for environmental protection and urban beautification in the future.
She praised all departments and agencies involved in this campaign, stating that only through coordinated efforts between the government and institutions can Delhi become a cleaner and better capital.
