New Delhi, February 4: The budget session in Parliament witnessed intense exchanges between the opposition and the government. Union Minister B.L. Verma emphasized that every session of the House is crucial, but the opposition’s disruptive behavior is hindering proceedings.
Speaking to reporters, Verma criticized the opposition for creating chaos, particularly during the budget session, stating that such actions send a negative message to the public. “They should express their views here, but all they do is make noise,” he remarked.
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale targeted Rahul Gandhi, asserting, “He can submit whatever he wants. It’s inappropriate for him to take such a stance. There’s nothing new here; Rahul has made several erroneous statements before. His recent comments are unacceptable for a leader of the opposition.” He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the House and deliver his speech.
LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Rajesh Verma stated, “The Prime Minister is ready to discuss the President’s address. If opposition leaders undermine the morale of our soldiers and prevent the House from functioning, how can Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi claim to support the House’s operations?”
BJP MP Manan Kumar Mishra criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming, “She has no other issues. She is focused on her future. In the upcoming 2026 assembly elections, her departure from West Bengal is certain. In this situation, she wants to create a narrative regarding the SIR across the country. The Election Commission has acted correctly, ensuring fairness.”
Mishra further noted, “Mamata Banerjee seems to trust no one, indicating a lack of faith even in her lawyers, which is why she wants to fight the case herself. The SIR matter is already pending in the Supreme Court.”
