Patna, February 4: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, announced on Wednesday the construction of a Defense Corridor in the state. This initiative aims to enhance the industrial capacity of Bihar and create significant employment opportunities for the youth.
During a meeting at his residential office in Patna with senior officials and experts from the National Defense Academy (NDA) on a study visit from the Ministry of Defense, Chaudhary discussed various aspects related to the proposed Defense Corridor, including its plans and potential for development.
He emphasized that this meeting represents a crucial step towards the industrial and strategic development of Bihar. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the NDA government is fully committed to providing employment for the youth. Over the past five years, more than 5 million jobs and government positions have been created in the state, with a target of generating 10 million jobs in the next five years.
Chaudhary stated that the government’s priority is to ensure that the people of Bihar do not have to seek employment outside the state and can find better opportunities within. To achieve this goal, the government is continuously promoting industries. A significant industrial corridor is being developed in the Dobhi area of Gaya district, which is expected to become a major center for the state’s development in the future.
Additionally, the establishment of a semiconductor manufacturing park and the development of new industrial areas in Bhagalpur and other locations are underway. The construction of the Defense Corridor will also help Bihar establish its identity in defense production and technology. The double-engine government is consistently working to make Bihar a hub for industry and employment. This meeting with the study team from the Ministry of Defense is a solid initiative in that direction.
