Mona Singh Discusses True Meaning of Popularity in Acting

Mumbai, February 4: In today’s rapidly changing landscape, the measure of popularity has shifted towards social media trends and viral content. Actress Mona Singh recently shared her insights on this topic, emphasizing that true relevance still stems from powerful performances and memorable characters.

Reflecting on her long career during an interview, Singh remarked, “Some characters stay etched in the hearts and minds of the audience forever. The popular TV show ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin’ is a prime example. My character Jassi is still remembered by people just as much today as it was years ago. This is the true reward for an artist when fans call them by their character’s name.”

Singh stated, “Even today, the significance of memorable acting has not diminished. If an artist’s work touches people’s hearts, it leaves a much longer impact than any social media trend.”

She added, “To remain relevant in the industry, the most important thing is to continuously challenge oneself. Repeatedly playing the same type of character is neither exciting nor does it pave the way for growth. Artists should step out of their comfort zones and embrace new roles, even if they come with risks.”

Mona emphasized, “Real growth occurs when an artist dares to walk unfamiliar paths. New mediums, fresh stories, and diverse characters not only enhance an artist’s skills but also forge new connections with the audience. Fear of experimentation limits an artist’s creativity.”

Currently, Mona Singh is in the spotlight for her upcoming series ‘Kohra 2,’ which is set to premiere on Netflix on February 11. She will be joined by actor Barun Sobti in a significant role.
