Modis Upcoming Visit to Malaysia: Key Discussions Expected

New Delhi, February 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on an official visit to Malaysia from February 7 to 8, 2026. During this trip, he will engage in discussions on several important issues with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Modi has been invited by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. This will mark Modi’s third visit to Malaysia and his first since the designation of India-Malaysia relations as a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’ in August 2024.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold Bilateral Talks with Anwar Ibrahim. He is also expected to meet members of the Indian community, as well as representatives from various industries and businesses. The 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum will coincide with the Prime Minister’s visit.

India and Malaysia share a long-standing friendship rooted in historical, civilizational, and cultural ties. The presence of over 2.9 million Indians in Malaysia strengthens this relationship, making it the third-largest Indian Diaspora in the world.

The India-Malaysia relationship is multifaceted and evolving. The upcoming visit provides an opportunity for both leaders to review the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, which spans trade and investment, defense, security, maritime collaboration, digital and financial technology, energy, healthcare, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people relations. It also offers a chance to outline future collaborations for mutual benefit.
