Lucknow, February 4: A significant update for youth aspiring to join the Uttar Pradesh Police as constables has been announced. The Yogi government has declared the dates for the written examination under the direct recruitment process for the year 2025 for the positions of Reserve Civil Police and equivalent roles.
According to a notification released by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on Tuesday, the written examination for Constable Recruitment 2025 will take place on June 8 (Monday), June 9 (Tuesday), and June 10 (Wednesday). The exam will be conducted in two shifts each day.
This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 32,679 positions. Additional information regarding the examination centers, admit cards, and guidelines will be made available on the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
Notably, the Yogi Adityanath government has provided significant relief to millions of youth preparing for police recruitment in Uttar Pradesh. Following the Chief Minister’s directives, a one-time relaxation of three years has been granted to the maximum age limit for candidates applying for the direct recruitment of Reserve Civil Police and equivalent positions under the proposed recruitment for 2025.
This decision was made in accordance with Rule 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service (Relaxation of Age Limit for Recruitment) Rules, 1992. It was implemented through a government order issued on January 5, 2026, following the recruitment advertisement released on December 31, 2025, paving the way for many candidates who were previously excluded from the recruitment process due to age restrictions.
It is worth mentioning that in 2024, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board conducted recruitment for a total of 60,244 constable positions in the state. This was the largest recruitment drive by the state government to date, with 20 percent of the positions reserved for women.
