
Bhagalpur, February 4: On February 3, Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav presented the budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the Bihar Assembly. The NDA government claims this budget will fulfill the vision of a developed Bihar.
Minister Deepak Prakash praised the budget, stating it will give a new momentum to the state’s development.
In an interview in Bhagalpur, Prakash mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, this budget aims to position Bihar among the leading states in the country. He described it as an unprecedented budget that shows growth across all sectors. There is an increase in funding for various areas, including plans to transform district-level hospitals into super-specialty hospitals. He emphasized the need for greater public participation through the Panchayati Raj department and aims to empower the standing committee to provide relief to rural communities.
Prakash asserted that this budget symbolizes a strong commitment to the overall development and welfare of the state. It reflects the resolve for growth and a dedication to public welfare.
Minister Santosh Suman also commented on the budget, highlighting that the state’s double-engine government has presented an excellent financial plan. The budget prioritizes key areas such as employment for youth, women’s empowerment, education, and health. It aims to double people’s income over the next five years and positions Bihar as one of the leading states. Suman believes this is an inclusive and comprehensive budget, essential for Bihar’s development. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for this remarkable budget.
